This President Research Report allows students to navigate informational text, record findings, publish their research into a mini-book, and present to their peers.This engaging report aligns with 18 of the 3rd grade ELA Common Core State Standard, 21 of the 4th Grade ELA Common Core State Standards. I created this writing rubric directly.Research Paper: Here is a graphic organizer featuring 16 questions for any country research project. There is also a rubric assessment for a total of 40 points. A second rubric assessment is also provided with no points assigned, so you may differentiate to your own classroom.Research projects are easy and fun with these templates. Students can learn about dinosaurs, states, provinces, and more. Each template guides students through the research process by asking simple questions and requiring basic drawings.
Characteristics to note in the rubric: Language is descriptive, not evaluative. Labels for degrees of success are descriptive (“Expert” “Proficient”, etc.); by avoiding the use of letters representing grades or numbers representing points, there is no implied contract that qualities of the paper will “add up” to a specified score or grade or that all dimensions are of equal grading.Research Project Rubric. This is a typical research paper rubric middle school and can be used in the grading of most papers. Each category may be out of 20. With the top paper in the category getting between 16 and 20; a paper below the top grade getting between 11 and 15; average paper getting between 6 and 10; and a low grade paper getting between 0 and 5.
